Poor sad wonky hen

I have a hen that quit laying -which is fine- but she had pasty butt and I soaked her in warm water a week ago to clear it off… but she since then can’t raise her tail feathers. It’s so sad!
If she were egg bound all this time she’d be dead by now… I don’t know how to help her.

She gets around, but it’s hard to watch.

It’s a small flock of three, all hens.
They all three laid eggs all through the winter. We’ve seen a couple rubber eggs. Then we’re at two eggs a day

Your hen needs to see a vet. She is probably in pain. She may be laying internally. I had a guinea hen that walked like that and the xray at the vet showed a huge mass in her abdomen. I euthanized her and did an at-home necropsy and she was full of egg matter.

If you can’t afford a vet visit or there is not one in your area, I would err on the side of mercy and give her a gentle end.
