The Duck Thread

Awesome! I was wondering the same thing! A fall treat! I gave all my feather babies some tomatoes today but the cold got my plants this past week so i don't know how many more i will have actually ripen this yr!
My flock likes pumpkin but they love water melon it would never sit here for a week while being nibbled on. lol We had some frosts on the pumpkin and it makes it mushy and they like it better that way. Of course I am seeing some orangish poop but they say Pumpkin can have worming effect on them too.

Oh yeah! Mine love watermelon too! They eat it down to nothin but the green skin! Lol! My ducks poo has been bright green lately...i guess it from her free ranging...eating alot of grass and clover! She loves the tomatoes tho and the chickens like em too! I just lucked out this yr...we built raised garden beds & filled em with horse manure...didnt get em filled til kinda late in the season so i didnt mess with em much but i had some tomatoe plants if grown from seeds and decided to clear a spot in one of the beds to put em in! They did really well...produced 100s of small tomatoes that looked like oversized cherry tomatoes! Dont even know what kind they were but they were really good and i would go out every morning to let the chickens out and grab the duck egg then stop by the garden and fill my house coat pockets with tomatoes! Still have probably 50 or more green ones on em but like i said i don't know if they will ripen now! I only had 3 plants so they did real well! Had plenty to share with my flock!

This is my small flock. There was 6 till a dog decided to kill a couple of my babies. I'm new with ducks but love mine dearly. So I think I'll hang out here for a while if you all don't mind.

Thank you! And thanks, I took the picture this morning :) She was very curious about the camera today and posed nicely.

Yep, I got them to keep Lacie company, and they do, so I don't care that they're hybrids :) You should definitely get some geese when you can, I absolutely love having mine. Sorry about the nest. I just had a broody hen abandon a nest of 18 eggs, so I get to clean that out later :sick

Pretty girl! Ayam Cemani?
