Hi my two M/F pansy both have worn down beaks (pics sent soon). I have them in big enough cage im not sure if was rubbing against wire or something else, Will it grow back in time. I've put calcium in the water not sure if helps. The hens eggs were soft and sum broken so she might not have been eating right.

The beaks will grow back in time. It sounds like their diet is low in calcium. What are you feeding them? Do you have the nutrition label of their feed? I would offer calcium on the side rather than put it in their water. They will eat as much as they need.

I feed them quail layer feed i haven't given them oyster shell in while which i get in the sand as i ran out but have ordered more.

I've been trying to find the nutrition information for that feed online, but have had little luck. They only list the protein and fat content. That worries me about its nutritional value.

I don't think it will hurt to wait a few more weeks for eggs, but in the meantime, you may want to take a look at this article.

As @Nabiki , has said that feed isn't fantastic! I'd look for a feed with a protein content of 24%....usually, gamebird feeds of that protein content also have higher essential vitamins and minerals and amino acids, necessary for proper development and heath.
