What’s a brooding unit?

Hi guys, it’s my first time hatching chicks and i was relying on my broody hen. I’ve posted a previous thread explaining but she gave up on the eggs, attacking a few. We are left with 5, they are currently in an incubator and i’ve heard to leave them there after hatching until dry and fluffy. What do i do with them after that though? What’s a brooding unit as this has been mentioned to me by a few people?

Basically the place the chicks will live until they’re old enough to not require a heat source. Typically a box with a heat lamp, chick feed and a waterer. Can be as basic or complex as you like, just make sure the heat is sufficient but not overheating them. Tonnes of ideas on google.

Brooder-temp controlled area to raise chicks the first few week(s4-6) of their life. I am using a very large plastic tote.
