When is a pullet not a Pullet

After a pullet lays it's first egg, is it still considered a pullet or has it made the move up to a hen? I know a pullet is a young female under a year old, but after the first egg comes........

Technically a pullet is a pullet until they are a year old but often people start calling them hens around 6-7 months just because at that age they are full grown.
