I would like to introduce a mother hen and her one month old Frizzle chick who used to be part of the flock -(2 Pekins and one white silky) The 2Pekins became broody together . Nearing hatch day I only had one egg going to hatch due to detatched air cell complications with the other eggs . So I separated the other two hens and I had to assist hatch the chick . The mother hen Astra is a wonderful mother but I am worried that they might attack the chick so just wondering what age should I introduce the chick and the mother to the garden again . I’m also worried about a neighbourhood cat because the poor mother has been in the aviary for three months!

It is old enough to start supervised mingling back with the flock. The mother also should protect it from the cat.
