I have a 5 week old light sussex cross silkie chick, she was following me around the garden so I decided to make her day a little more fun and I started to turn pots over and I let her scratch around eating loads of bugs like worms, slugs, earwigs and small insects. (she now loves me and expects me to shower her in bugs every time I go outside) but I suddenly thought "what if chicks aren't allowed bugs and they get diseases from them!?"
So are chicks allowed to eat the things my chick was eating?

If your chick were raised with a momma hen, she's have been eating bugs from just a few days old. You're being a good chicken momma, helping her find good food!

My chickens would also follow me around when I'd move big pots or planters, it was like a buffet for them. I now keep stall mats or pieces of plywood in the run to flip over and allow them to feast.
