Time for some Ayam Cemani pictures. They're perched in the shade on this hot day. Day one of free ranging. I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit worried something might happen to them. It's also the first time them and the ducks will be able to come in contact. It's been all see no touch. So far it's going pretty good.

Sooo much black! How are they in the heat?

They do pretty well. Of all the birds here, they are the most active in the heat of the day. Right now the Silkies look like a fur rug while the AC are eating the lawn.

AZ people are always concerned about heat, even us up here in the mountains. Not that I am getting any of those any time soon!

The first time I saw a hot Silkie I was pretty sure it was dead. Poor thing just flattens right out. Kind of pathetic.
