The top one appears to be about 2' x 3' or 4'. It would be helpful to know the dimensions. Presumably that relates to why you like it most, such as ease of handling?

Size was arbitrary, used scrap lumber I had lying around.
Make it fit your scenario, tho I do like the long skinny ones better for ease of moving.

I did explain why I liked the top one better.
"I like the one at the top best and am converting the others over.
Ripped a half inch off the 2x4's and used it to cover mesh edges to avoid cut feet and the possible subsequent infection (bumblefoot)."

Also explained, right at the top, why the article was " a shorty" ;) It wasn't meant to be a step by step build tutorial.
