It’s super interesting to read the history and ancestry. I have mostly hatchery dual purpose stock. However, since mine are pets and two have died from laying disorder related infections, I’ve been looking into heritage breeds who might have more longevity. This helps sort it out.

Dual purpose breeds have been around in may other places in the world for many years. they just weren't called dual purpose breeds.
I'm pretty new to chickens so I didn't know what dual purpose meant. This was very informative and great pictures! I grew up in Japan, so I think it's pretty neat to have the Asiatic influence in our chickens today.
That's some interesting insight! My Japanese foreign exchange student also found the chickens from her homeland interesting when I explained it to her.
