    EASTER EGGER

Easter eggers used to be the three breeds/landrace from Chile that created the Araucana and Ameraucana in the US, now its decentands of them or any mixed bird with blue gene laying heritage. The term "easter egger" hit Australia more recently and is a way to sell poorly bred or mixed Araucana...

    Who is Who?

If you got them from a farm store the left is a Easter egger (often sold as Ameraucana/Americana, or Araucana) and the right is the starlight green egger

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

    0. just as fast as they were starting up after a moult they stopped again.. It's mid autumn/fall here but I do have 6 pullets that are coming to the age they could lay so I'm hoping they start soon and I don't have to wait for spring

Wheaten x Black Copper Marans pictures?

Lots of mossiness (brown leakage) plus loss of copper. I dont have any pullet photos as I sold them as backyard layers at about 12 weeks, but they also had chest leakage, mossiness in the body and lots were straw color instead of copper in the hackles

💖 The Offical Easter Egger Lover’s Thread 💖

I'm posting to bump this thread. These are two of my honorary "Easter eggers" Ginger and Sugar. Technically Australian Araucana that lack a crest and are mixed colours, but I think that would place then into EE territory as a non-standard Ameraucana would.

How Many Eggs Did You Get Today?

3 today. I have all my hens and pullets (except japanese bantams) running and roosting together now which I think has caused a disturbance plus its autumn/fall so expecting my older hens to slow down or stop soon

    Oldest Hen Age and Breed

Eldest I have had reached 12, she was a wyandotte. The next eldest are 6-7+, purchased as adults so at least that old.

Dominant white and wheaten or buff?

Blue is more common than dominant white here so there would be a higher chance she's splash. I'll source a black rooster and go from there.

Dominant white and wheaten or buff?

Hi all. My son is using some non standard mix coloured, crestless Australian Araucana to breed some "Easter eggers" as we don't have them here nor Ameraucana (our Araucana look like Ameraucana but crested) We picked up the first hen today and may possibly be returning for the second pullet plus...

Said to be Isa Browns - we are doubting one is (well at least “full”. Opinions? (Aus location)

She could be a light ISA brown, but could also be a Bond brown or Lohmann brown. similar "recipe" which I have found can have varying shades and amounts of white

    How quickly do chickens age?

Unless you have commercial hybrids I wouldn't call 2 1/2 years old or aging. it's odd they are no longer laying, but it looks like a lot of their diet are fillers you would offer seed eating parrots. I agree with BigBlueHen53, switching to a all flock feed or something that provides a better...
