She has done the sneeze and shake too from eating too fast. She was standing next to the food bowl this morning when I heard her wheezing. She is still wheezing but she also is sneezing which is good. Most definitely are too fast as she has a habit! She’s eating and drinking though. I’ll keep an...
Update: within the first day she seemed better. She wants to get out of the cage but I’ve kept her in. She’s walking fine and eating and drinking like normal. I might let her out tomorrow and see how she walks but overall she is fine. Thank you for your help!
Thank you!! I do have a rooster but he didn’t try and mate her. If anything I think what happened was my one hen was eating and went back to find her spot which was taken and they always try to get back into the spot they always sleep in and PR might have gotten pushed and couldn’t catch...
I ran out of eggs and I don’t have tuna but I gave her some mealworms and she ate them right up. She was facing her food when I went it there and it looked like she ate some. She is trying to move but I think she is trying to keep weight off one leg. I cant seem to figure out which one. I’m...
I just checked on her and she tried trying towards her food but again her balance isn’t good. She is laying down now. Hopefully she tries eating and drinking later. But when I get home I’ll make sure she tries eating and drinking some more. I can try giving her a few mealworms treats I know...
She’s a big girl. I’ve seen her eat and drink but not today yet. I’ll go out and look. I won’t be home all day though. I have class in a couple hours and then work. I really hope she is going to be okay.
I woke up this morning to get the chickens ready and my PR is on the floor. I think she fell off the roosts and it might have stunned her and she hurt her leg. There’s no bedding because they have mites and I’m trying to get rid of those. I’ve been spraying and using powder stuff as well. Her...
My flock never used a designated area to dust bathe they just dig holes everywhere and start batheing. My question is what can I put down for them to bathe in? There run is dirt and right now I’m treating them for mites. (We have a rat that we can’t get rid of and I’m thinking that’s how they...
That’s acually where I got my first silkie but she was $8 before Covid hit and now one single silkie chick is $35 there. I really do not want to spend $35x3 on three chicks each.
Hi, Does anyone know where in North Jersey I can buy some silkie chicks? Before Covid I bought one silkie chick from this place for $8 and I recently contacted them and now for one silkie chick it’s $35. I was not expecting that. I wanted to get my single silkie some friends her size but I...
Yeah last night when she didn’t want to walk inside to roost I knew right away ome th inf was going to happen. At least she passed in a comfortable place. When my rooster saw her he screamed. I wasn’t expecting him to do that.
Update: sadly last night my sick hen passed away in her sleep. She had a flea liquid draining either from her nose or beak. I had a slight feeling soemthing was wrong last night. Did I stress her out to much? Or was it time
So the flock recently got mites and my sick plymouth was covered in them so after I treated everything I bathed everyone. My sick plymouth was bathed twice bc she still had the mites on her and after her bath she was the only one who didn’t want to walk after and layed in the towel. I put some...
I cleaned and treating everything I could. I bathed all the chickens. My sick hen who has the most still had them after her first bath and so I gave her a second bath sprayed her down and dusted her with the dust treatment. It said I could apply to hens. Since she hasn’t been feeling good she...
Yes thank you!! I’m going to go out tomorrow and get everything. If I change the bedding do I have to keep changing it weekly?? Or if I clean and treat can I just leave the new bedding in? Maybe not have bedding in the coop for a little bit until the treatment starts to work okay?
