    YO GEORGIANS! :)

I would like to suggest that you call the State Vet and have him tested. You may be dealing with a respiratory issue and it could make all your birds carriers. I recently lost over 30 chickens that had to be culled because of MS (mycoplasma synoviae). From reading here, you have invested a lot...

There are 2 of us on here that live in Coffee County GA (that I know of). Lots of luck finding a place to move!

I had 2 game hens that grew spurs. My RIR had the nubs but they never grew.

Good to see you back! I love the coop. Sure would love to see your Tolbunts-haven't seen them since they were little!

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

YAY for you! 25 lbs is great! I just started back with the Atkins diet to lose my last 20 lbs (would have only been 10 but I faltered on my diet). That last 10 lbs for you should be a breeze. YAY for your hubby too. Great job, wish we could lose that fast!

I think everyone has headed out of doors to soak up that gorgeous sunshine!

They should be fine for a while. Run out and get another turner! Or 2 or 5!

Those little motors go bad in the turners. I had to replace one after only 3 days of use. Luckily it was warranted.

Don't let hubby strap the donkey to the roof of the car!

Glad to hear they are all doing good! WOW good hatch ratio too. I may have to look you up and get some of them from you after I get my pens finished.

Waterers are a big priority on my list-I am so tired of cleaning those 1 and 2 gallon plastic ones everyday.

I can't wait to see how many eggs you can fit in there! That's something I NEED to do but every time I consider the idea, it rains. We haven't gotten a great established lawn yet so hubby and pooch would just ruin all my hard work by lunch.

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Morning all! Anyone doing big chicken projects today? I will be patching a leaky coop and continuing to build my breeding pens until the rain comes late today- Blah. We just got dry enough to walk across the place without needing mud boots.

I thought I was content with the 7 I rescued until a friend hatched a dozen of their eggs for me. I went and bought an incubator when they were 2 weeks old! In less than a year I had, at one time, 43 chickens. I plan to get back to at least that number soon!

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

And we all see that it's no fun for you! LOL I bet all of us here could manage to hatch enough chicks so they would have to be filled every 5!

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Got a question for all of you- how did you come to start raising chickens? Did you grow up with chickens on the farm ? I grew up with them on the farm (grandparents had chickens). Moved to a not so big city but parents didn't have anything other than a dog and cat. I moved last year and where I...

If we are lucky, we have a week or 2 of pleasant weather then the summer heat wave begins. I would easily get spoiled with every day like today- the downside? We would all work ourselves to death building coops, pens and doing fencing!

Hey! Haven't seen you posting lately. How are those babies?

    YO GEORGIANS! :)

Very true! I want that nice weather where you can leave the windows open and feel a cool breeze blowing all day and night.

We have to soak up all the sun we can before Thursday- another cold front rolling in and dropping us into the 50's. I will be glad when the cold finally leaves us alone!
