Indeed. In my opinion, once you're at the point of throwing shoes or beating with broomsticks, it's not worth it. They will never stop seeing you as competition and you will never really trust them.
The best roosters I've had have come from a place of mutual respect.
That makes sense!! To be fair though, I didn’t really need the shoe since he backed off when I yelled NO!! but I didn’t feel like chasing him. And I’ve never beat him or need a stick or anything like that, he backs off when I confront him, but I admit even before he started attacking I would occasionally just chase him to remind him  the girls always chase him too so I figured it was okay but maybe in his mind it reinforced that I was big and scary? I thought it would prevent issues but maybe it caused them? I didn’t handle him much or really at all as a chick either cause I tried to be hands off with the cockerels so I wouldn’t have this problem. Guess that didn’t work so well. He used to be so sweet. Although he’s always been a bit stand offish and ran from me so he’s never been held or coddled or anything (think I held him like once). I’m wondering if me chasing him frequently made him hate me or something? I’ve stopped doing that but maybe too late? Although my dad has chased him too so  but I’m wondering if I’ve just been disrespectful to him so he’s been disrespectful to me? Do you think if I try to make peace with him and show him I’m not scary he will come around? Or is he just being a jerk for no reason??? He seems to mostly be doing it out of protection.

It's called national distributing. We even have Tillamook here. It did not impress me.
Well I guess not being a dairy kid. :D
As for distribution, all I have is Walmart and the local redneck "upscale" store who's headquarters is where I live. I haven't seen it at either. (I will often find things at one walmart or local store that the other ones 10 miles away do not have)

I hear there is a Kroger somewhere around that is about the size of a shoebox...does Kroger carry Tillamook?

I like sherbet. Lots of sugar in the commercial ones, though. I can make a pretty passible one in the Cuisinart out of fake sugar and frozen berries with a bit of water or milk, but it's really noisy and makes a mess, so I don't do it very often
One of my better $35 investments was my 1.5 qt electric Cuisinart ice cream maker. No salt needed. What kind is yours?
Kiddo has dairy allergies and like previously mentioned, coconut ice cream is nasty! So I made up a wonderful vanilla custard recipe that kiddo loves and I personally love being able to make sorbets from scratch. So easy and so much healthier than store bought ice creams. :drool
....
To be fair, nothing impresses you.
:gig:gig
At least two days and up to 5 days for older ones. Brining them can help. Quail should be fine after a day.

Succotash is a mixture of corn and lima beans cooked with butter, salt and pepper.

The only way I will cook sweet potatoes is candied. I dislike them them being mashed.
I love them candied once in a while, but really good ones don't need a thing IMO. Especially homegrown ones. I grow a few varieties of gourmet pumpkins (proper eating pumpkins) mainly because they taste so much like giant sweet potatoes.
