10x14 Shed air flow

Was hoping to have a roost in there today but did not happen due to weather. The chicks are currently in a store bought coop with my last older chicken. It is starting to fall apart was hoping to have them moved in by tomorrow may not happen. The Fan is not a computer fan though it does look like one. Currently it is blowing out all I have to do is flip it. It does have ridge vents and going to cut out some of the front panels to have more air flow. For sunlight it gets morning sun about 2 pm it is in the shade. The fan should be high enough will they will not even be able to get up to it. As you can see I replaced one metal panel with a clear one for more sunlight which means more heat. 20190717_191540.jpg received_874160272948082.jpeg 20190717_191535.jpg 20190717_191532.jpg 20190717_191529.jpg 20190717_191519.jpg

Maybe you can shade that clear panel in the summer, if it gets too hot in there. I’m sure if you’ve been reading much here, you’ve discovered that ventilation is more important than warmth in winter, and that chickens need shade and help keeping cool in summer.

Will they have a run outside, or will they free range?

Both. They will have a run when I am not home and free range when I'm home. I have fox and coyotes that love my chickens went from 7 to 1 in less then a year letting them free range all the time so not doing that again.

The big test for heat is does it feel comfortable to you inside when the chickens are inside...

Right now at 85 it feels nice besides the humidity we had a lot of rain today. When it was 90 was bearable to work in the side. The run will be open during the day which will have shade anytime of the day and apples during the summer.

105! I'm looking at a 450 and a 600 CFM fan. :) FAN.

Your shed looks just like mine, literally. See pic below. I will begin replacing the floor tomorrow. My plan is to place 2 Coop windows on each side wall, and leave the 2 front doors open (56"), covered by a wood frame and 1/2" hardware cloth wire. Should be good on ventilation.

See the front top panels on mine. I'm making those into windows on mine. I did not pay for my fan was given to me . It is for industrial use for their machines.
