Still trying to figure out if my 11 week old barnyard mix babies are hens or roos. Can anyone tell by looking at their feathers? I know the white one has the comb of a roo but no sign of a wattle. At 11 weeks can you tell by hackle and saddle feathers?
11 weeks is a little young for male feathering to show, but based off the comb alone, the light one looks like a cockerel for sure. He’s actually bearded, so he doesn’t have wattles. I can’t see the other one’s comb quite well enough to tell gender
I think you have two Cockerels, since both of them have those sharp hackle feathers. For me, I learnt mine were male when the boys started screeching at 3am
