One of my 13 day old ducklings just slipped and his left leg seems to be pulling to the side. Should I be worried? It’s not out of its socket or anything, just seems to kinda be sliding out like he’s doing the split with one leg. He’s already a little handicapped so I’m just worried about him. Seems happy and healthy without pain but I wanna be sure.

You could be dealing with a niacin deficiency or a slipped tendon. I am more familiar with chickens, so I will just post a couple of links to read while @Miss Lydia or some of the other duck experts have a look. Can you post a picture? Here are the links to read:

I actually supplement a good amount of niacin so I don’t think that’s it, slipped tendon maybe. Poor baby :(

How and on what did it 'slip'?
Can you show brooder and video of ducklings movements?

I took them upstairs for a walk around the living room and when I put them in the little carrier I have there wasn’t anything on the floor of it so they started sliding around for a few seconds before I quickly put a towel in there. He’s a little crooked so he’s more prone to slipping. Will take a video in a bit and post it!

In second video....it looks to be walking OK....
but neck is out of whack, leans way to it's left?
Could be a skeletal deformity?
Is the bulge on the right side of it's body the crop...not that familiar with ducks.
@WVduckchick is tho. :D

Yeah he’s always been like that haha. Doesn’t seem to effect him though! I have a feeling it’s cuz he was in his egg too long, he hatched with a slightly scrunched foot that I had to fix with a tape shoe. The bulge I think is just part of his neck/chest? Not sure either, I’m new to this haha. As long as he isn’t in pain though and he’s happy I couldn’t care less what he looks like, they’ll always be my sweet babies <3
