Hello- I've tried to answer the questions below from the note in the forum.
My 2 year old easter egger is twisting her neck and closing her eyes sporadically and is slower moving - I've watched some wry neck videos but it doesn't seem as severe (at least of the ones I've watched) It's more like a twitch. I can't post the video it seems but the attached pictures are 2 seconds apart. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
1) What type of bird , age and weight (does the chicken seem or feel lighter or thinner than the others.)
Two year old easter egger, no weight change
2) What is the behavior, exactly.
She is standing in the corner, twisting her neck and closing and opening her eyes
3) How long has the bird been exhibiting symptoms?
Since yesterday
4) Are other birds exhibiting the same symptoms?
No - none
5) Is there any bleeding, injury, broken bones or other sign of trauma.
No
6) What happened, if anything that you know of, that may have caused the situation.
No idea
7) What has the bird been eating and drinking, if at all.
Nothing out of the ordinary - layer pellets - hard to tell if she has been eating, drinking as I've pulled her out and put her in solitary so should be able to tell soon.
8) How does the poop look? Normal? Bloody? Runny? etc.
Hard to tell as above - should know soon
9) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?
Nothing - separated her from the coop and have left some scrambled eggs for her
10 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?
We do not have a local vet
11) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.
