I'm very bummed after I bought 1 each Wyandotte and Buff Orpington Pullets at my local feed store.
The Wyandotte comb is already turning reddish, too young in my opinion.
I've raised many Gold-laced and Silver-laced Wyandotte's before but don't remember any getting a reddish comb and downward curved tail feathers by 3 weeks.
By your experiences what do you think it might be a Boy or Girl?
Hoping I'm wrong.

While that little comb is noticeably developed, and likely indicative of a cockerel, I'm not 100% positive. Some of my Wyandotte pullets reddened up at 3 weeks of age.

Are you able to post an update in another couple weeks, just to be certain? :)

~Alex

Yes I will post an update.
I really don't need anymore Roosters was only adding some different pullets to later breed with my Marans, Ameraucana, Speckled Sussex , EE & CCL Roosters to create some fun projects.
Even though would be another fun color to mix with I'm at my limit for Roosters.

That is a cockerel.

But I think I see fluffy cheeks on him. Based on that and the white in his feathers, I would say he is a not a Wyandotte. Maybe an Easter Egger.

It came from a local feed store
that just got in 50 of them from a hatchery all looking the same.
So I picked 1 each Wyandotte & Buff Orp.
The Buff Orps comb is still small and yellow so I know I got a pullet there.
I've raised Wyandotte's before and looked the same as day olds & they all turned out pullets but didn't
remember any having white tipped feathers or getting reddish at 3 weeks.
They told me at the Feed Store they are all Pullets,
Yeah I've heard that before.

Went to the Feed Store were I bought the Wyandotte and they still had about 25 of these all had white tipped feathers and most had combs turning pink.
Must came from low end hatchery stock or they bought straight-run and won't fess up.
They're still saying they are all pullets
Time will tell

I bought pullets at my feed store too. One turned out to be a cockerel, at least I named him (when I thought he was a her) Red! He's going to have to go, unfortunately. These things happen!!:hugs

I’m not an expert, but I have a 8 week old glw pullet right now. I asked for sexing help with her last week because her comb turned red early. It was at 3 weeks also. Here are some pictures so you can compare yours to mine. I have no guess on gender if yours.
