4 day old chick trouble with pooping

This is what she looked like this morning. She is definitely pooping solid so it could be cecal. I've removed almost all of her bottom fuzz. Just not sure what else to do. I'll have to keep food out tonight and monitor her crop in the morning.

I cleaned her bottom and checked her navel against the others and I don't feel anything abnormal.

Oh, that looks much different!
Swelling has gone down in second pic.....or optical illusion in first pic?
Glad it seems all good!

I think it looks puffy because of the dried poop. I checked her against 3 or 4 of my other Ameraucana chicks and it didn't seem abnormal.

I'm at a loss.

Poop stuck to their butts, or leaking from it, has nothing to do with mesh on the bottom of the brooder.

Why are you keeping her away from the other chicks?

What is the temperature in the brooder, both right under the light and at the other end of the brooder?
They need a cool place to go......too warm of temps can cause loose poops because they drink more to try and cool off.

Keep the feed simple, just a balanced chick feed and plain water, let her system regulate.

They are two weeks old now and the brooder temp is 80's under the lamp and mid 70's on the other side. She doesn't sleep well around the others. One moves, they all move so it allows her to be sure she is resting enough to keep her strength. I haven't given her anything but chick starter and water over the last couple days.

Also, wouldn't I have more than one with this issue if the brooder was too hot?

I would be fermenting their chick starter. I haven't had one case of pasty butt since I started doing that.
Are you cutting the light off at night and just leaving heat?
