That is what I thought. But read a lot of times EE roos have uneven markings too. Dolphins seem even so was hoping even with the comb maybe there was a chance it was a pullet. LolIt's the large and red comb!
Hahaa. it is hard to tell for sure! I have tried to get some pics of just the tail feathers up close and a couple look maybe pointed (but my other EE looks the same and still has a tiny yellow comb) but the rest are round. She/he is a fiesty one and always has been with us so trying to hold her for pics is challenging but my daughter is home from school now so may be able to help me get some. Her white and gray all match on both sides and still no sign of rust that I have read about.... I am still hoping for pullet. I have a couple tail feather pics from the 9th that I can post as well. For me I'm looking at the neck feathers. Because of the feathers being light in color and all having the same exact shade im having a hard time defining each individual feather. In one picture I see pointed feathers indicating roo and in the very next photo I see rounded or at least what appears to be indicative of a hen. If you place something underneath a few feathers to help with contrast that would help a ton!![]()
Thanks. I am really hoping she is a pullet. She is a bit of a bully at times and not the sweetest but she is soo pretty! And at times she will jump up on my legs so I have hope that she will get better.I have had EE pullets that were much redder at 10 weeks. I would wait a bit to see how the hackles shape up before the final call.
Tail pics aren't going to help much at this age. He's about to go through a molt and grow in his adult feathers, including those male saddle feathers.Pictures of tail and side view from 9 weeks old
