I have two buff laced polish chicks. They are both 6 weeks old and from the same hatch. Curious if there are any opinions on roo vs pullet? First two pictures are of the lighter one, third is the darker one with the bigger crest. Last picture shows both. No signs of wattles yet!

This breed usually takes a long time to tell gender, but I'm guessing by the shape of the crests that they're both males. Time will tell, though.
Thanks! I know they are tricky ones, but figured I would post and see what the consensus was. I can’t see any obvious tell tale signs either way, so just remaining hopeful I end up with at least one pullet.

@Gladysandfriends do you have any updates on the sex of these chicks? I have some Polish that are the same age yours were then and I'm trying to see if I can figure out their sexes.
Hey! They both turned out to be roosters. When they turned 12 weeks their male feathers started to come in. Specifically pointy, darker feathers coming in their crests. They also had some shiny, darker feathers on their shoulders too

Thanks for responding with an update!
No problem! How old are yours now? I will say up until 12 weeks if was pretty tricky to tell. If there is any pink around the comb/wattles area too, that can be a sign of a rooster. I ended up with a similar aged pulled and she has no sign of pink on her. I attached a picture of the crest feathers I was talking about too

Thank you this is all very helpful. Mine are only 5 weeks old so I'm going to wait a few more weeks before posting photos. So far no red wattles, but it's early yet.

No worries! I know how hard it is to wait, but I really didn’t know until 12 week mark. I think their combs started reddening up around the 8 week mark though, so keep an eye out for that.
