6mo old EE, not crowing yet. Is he a he?

I’m still holding out hope this is somehow a hen
6 months old. Not one attempt at all to crow that I’ve heard. My other roosters had always at least started practicing by now.
Neighbors have roosters so he can hear them. I’m guessing just a slow to mature boy.
Thoughts? Previous posts have gone in each direction with him when younger.

I was told the red/rust shoulders were normally male specific.
But I don’t see any pointy saddle feathers, so I’ve been so confused

Yes, luckily it doesn’t cause issues, we were worried though as this was noticeable when we picked him/her out of the bin at TSC.

Saddle feathers are rounded and therefore pullet. Examles from google for comparison..

Normally this is the case, but there are a few exceptions to the rule. Even though the shoulders are redder than most females, it's still nice and even and so is the rest of the feather pattern.

Agree that your EE is a pullet and she has scissor beak so if you plan to breed don’t use her as scissor beak is a genetic trait that will be passed down.

Wow I had almost lost hope this was a hen. I’m glad I posted!
I do not plan on breeding, we bought all chicks as pullets because we didn’t want fertile eggs. But thank you for the info I appreciate everyone’s responses!
