Hey all, I have a 7 week old CM from Ideal that was supposed to be a pullet… I’m having my doubts but would love opinions, as I’m holding out hope that it’s just an early bloomer. Bonus points it you can tell me WHY you feel it is pullet or cockerel so I can learn.. up until last week I had no misgivings - but the comb started growing and pinking up a lot this week, and I notice in these pics it seems to be standing a bit taller than I’d like, although I don’t notice it normally. Adding a couple of pics from the first week of that helps.

With a comb that big and red at this age, its def a cockerel in my opinion. Just going from the experience with my own flock.
Here are pictures of my gold sexlink rooster and sapphire gem pullet at 7 weeks old. Pullets can have bigger combs but def not turning pink. They would stay pale and yellow. Hope this helps!!

I agree with the other posters - looks like a boy!! I have a bcm roo and his wattles and comb were huge as well, and my pullets barely have any comb. He's a handsome one!

Yes, cockerel... as mentioned because on a pullet the comb wouldn't be so brightly colored or so large for some time. Usually around 16 weeks.
this bird is actually rather confusing, otherwise.... since the comb says cockerel, but the coloring says pullet. Cockerels tend to be much lighter in color on the plumage.
