Hi all!

This is Millie, an 8.5 week old Speckled Sussex, he/she is our most docile and well mannered chicken.
The body stature to me seems very Hen like, but I could be very wrong!

We unfortunately are not able to keep Roosters where we are, so I'm praying this little one is a Pullet/Hen! ❤️

I'm thinking cockerel but I've got a bad track record with SS.
Let's see what other say
I have been told they're quite a difficult breed to sex. The 4 speckled chicks from that same hatch are very similar in comb sizing but the tail feathers are different - Millie is the only one like this.
We'll see!

Tail feathers don't mean anything at that age. With the exception of gender specific color patterns, you aren't going to see any gender specific differences in feathers until 12 weeks at the earliest.

That comb looks pretty big, but not super red. If all of your pullets' combs are the same size I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

I think pullet
Thank you for you response!
Can I get your opinion on some Buff orpingtons? (I see you love them too!)
Would you say the left & right buff are pullets and the middle a cockeral?
The separate pictures are of the same chicken in question, Splotch. 🧐
