8 week old polish

These are two of my 8 week old polish chicks. They are the only two that have red around their comb and wattle development. The lighter guy has crowed so definitely a cockerel. Do the wattles on the other indicate boy too?

Me too. These are beardless Polish, so wattle growth and color are good indicators in the younguns.

At 8 weeks both are definitely boys. A beardless polish pullet at this age would have no color and minimal to no wattle development.

These birds are tricky. This one I was really convinced was a girl. No wattles even weeks after two developed wattles. This guy crowed a lot this morning.

That third one is bearded, so he doesn’t have wattles. Those are especially tough.

In comparison with the others, those do look like pullets. Polish are so hard though.
