8x10 Shed Plans:

Dang, I just looked at those plans and I wish I had seen them before I started building the coop I am building now! I could have gone BIGGER!!!!! LOL

Those actaully do not look all that hard to build if you are not making all of the things you wouldn't need for a coop.

My whole backyard is barely 16x24.

I've got a very basic shed-type 4x12 open coop/run plan in mind to house 4-5 chickens. If I have any more than that, the city will cite me.

So many people here ask for help with coop plans, when I saw these (while researching plywood box beams) I immediately thought of y'all. These plans are so detailed that even without much power tool/construction experience you can figure them out. Material list, cut diagrams, directions... very little thinking involved.

And they're super cute, for those of you with boutique birds/yards/inclinations.

Happy building!

I can't get this link to open, wondering if anyone could help me. DH told me last night that he will build me a coop about 8x10ft ON the cement pad...I couldn't believe it. I thought his shed/shop was going up there,,,but I get to have a coop and take a portion of this spot!!! So, I kinda need to get some plans in front of him. I just want to make this as easy as possible for him.
I've always wanted chickens,,,then was helping my neighbor do her chicken chores so she could go on vacation. I took eggs home and put them in the incubator, and I couldn't believe it when they hatched:):) I have 3 chicks and 3 ducks now.....also ordered 6 more from the neighbor...........chickenmath. I had no idea. The info on this site has been fantastic for a newby,,,thank you

I Just started building a 8X8 Shed I figured half for chickens and half for there supplies.Maybe one day it will be all chickens and supplies some where else. One day I'll post some pictures if I can figure how to do it .

I started off with 1 coop and run in 2010 and in the past two weeks, I've been scratching my head as to how to expand it or build a second one.

If you want a shed, that's fine. But instead of an 8X8 structure, you could look into combining Shed/Coop by putting it at 10X16 or something like that. Of course, it also boils down to budget and yard size.

I though life was cool with 2 hens. Then it was 5. Now, I'm thinking about finding a small country home with a much larger yard in order to have a dream coop.

This chicken business gets quite addictive, I say...

it sure does.started with one little chicken coop and small run.got more peeps in the early spring.now had dh build a larger coop and added three more runs two with roofs.thinking......mmmm.a shade house attached to run .
