A bag Full of Bielefelder questions!

I’m super late to the party here haha. But I have 7 (4 hens 3 Roos) that I hatched out from a pack of hatching eggs from Skywalker on ebay. And I actually also have another dozen in the incubator from green fire right now (hopefully hatching in the next week)! I am super curious to see the differences I see between them.

These are our first chickens ever, so we’re learning as we go.

But so far, hard to imagine anything much cuter or friendlier than these little bielefelders!

I have 4 full grown roosters of them, and they are in together with my hen's. They aren't trying to kill each other, and none have tried to attack me. They move out of my way when I go into the coop and run.

This is so good to hear. Because we already love all 3 of these little guys, hard to imagine putting one in the freezer unless we absolutely have to. But would be great if they get along like yours.

Since this is our first time having any chickens in general, maybe we are just overly excited. But do you find that Bielefelders are truly this friendly? They literally fly to us and crawl all over us, fall asleep in our hands. It’s amazing how personable they are already

When my girls first started laying egg's, I would pet and talk to them to help calm them down. It got so when I went in there if one of the girls was getting ready to lay they would walk around my legs looking up at me. I'd walk over to the nesting box, and they would hop in. Now, they will lay on their own. The boy's are helping them out now. They all come to me when I walk into the coop, but the boys move out of my way.

That’s awesome. I hope ours end up being that good!

Are the roosters nice to the hens in general?
