Adult Duck Neck Issues and Falling Over

What kind of vitamin E and selenium are you supplementing with? Are you using scrambled eggs for the selenium and does she eat them? Are you using human vitamin E gel tabs? How do you administer them just asking lots of questions to see if there’s anything that might be helpful to change or adjust but remember the treatment does take a while. It won’t be an instant recovery normally

I will purchase a niacinimide and add it to some peas for her. I will also purchase the duvet b complex you suggested. I will compare the dosage to the one I have know and use that in the meantime. I tried giving her eggs but she refused to eat them, so I have been giving her vitamin e (opening a gel capsule) over peas. I will try to give eggs today in case she will nibble on them

The niacinamide type of niacin is in the Durvet liquid B complex.
The vitamin e capsules 400iu are great.
The eggs are for the selenium in them , that helps the vitamin e to work. My ducks won’t eat eggs either. So for the selenium we need to figure out how you can give her some selenium, because the human selenium tablets have way too much selenium and it’s harmful . I’ll do some research and get back to you 😊

Here we go

How is she doing?
She is the same, still flipping her head back when drinking which causes her to walk backwards and fall. She is eating perfectly fine though. She was a little more talkative last night though. I will be receiving the Durvet Vitamin B in 2 days, I will try adding 1mL of that to her peas.

I also am going to try cutting the eggs up in SUPER tiny pieces and adding the vitamin e. She will nibble the eggs, but won’t eat them 😂

I also bought niacinamide capsules, so I may try sprinkling a bit of that on her peas until the durvet arrives

I really hope the supplements will help. She’s such a beautiful duck. Where did you get her from?

And you are still giving her the b complex pills until the liquid arrives? Because she also needs the thiamine (B-1)
Yes I will still give her the B complex capsules. How much thiamine would you recommend??

And I got her from Metzer (along with another welsh harlequin and some khakis). The other welsh has a bit more brown spotting/coloring. This one looks a bit more regal with all the white 😊

Here’s a snapshot of a post by one of our educators : @Eggcessive this post is from a different thread- where they say “1/2 tablet of super B complex” but I am looking at several different super B complexes for sale online and the ones that I have in my kitchen and they all have different amounts of THIAMINE.
Some have 50 mg some have 100 some have 25 so I am curious to know as well perhaps @Eggcessive will see this tag and reply?
But I know that when the liquid be complex comes, it will be good to just use that and the vitamin E 400 IU gel tabs and the eggs or herbs for selenium. The durvet liquid be complex has 100 mg of thiamine per one ML and also 100 mg of niacinamide per one ML. That is what I use for my ducks when they need it and so do many other of us here who are duck owners
