Yeah....we live in town, and with our small yard I'm pushing the envelope at four pullets. I wish I could get one of those blue beauties, though. I'd trade a RIR....

LOL

That's entirely true....I might have to wait until payday for the $15, though...unless I do some major scrounging around. And how would I get her? Is there still a convoy headed down there?

My mind is running around like chicken...

I just sold 4 Orpingtons this morning, though the one in the photo is still available. There are a few left, BUT... I have some really pretty Blues and Splashes that will be breeding in the spring...

They're outside scratching around, their big ol' fluffy butts being blown around by the wind.

I'll try to get more pictures of the birds that are left.

Deb, I saw your photo on FB...

Nothing major here, just the occasional gust that has something blowing around. No trees down that I know of, but I haven't gone tromping through the woods yet. Good thing is the power never went off last night, though the chicks are quick to let me know when they're cold!

It was definitely a close call. We just spent a couple of hundred dollars on that gravel pad you see there so that the girls were out of the mud, spending many hours spreading
it by hand. It's a darn good thing the tree wasn't just a few feet closer......

I called the neighbor and asked him if he wanted his tree back...

.... He didn't see the humor in it...wonder how long it'll sit there....

Power's been out since 8am, I've been running around like a fool picking up things that were blowing around, had to move three roos outta one of my tractors that collapsed from the wind smushing it... moved the dog house back up the hill for Isis that had blown down and into the field... moved Nanook from under a swinging tree... hurried the bator over to the store so it could be on generator power. Found a "Hot Hands" for Stormy to sit on while there's no light.
