All my crazy projet ideas!

Update - I got the SDW's. They all look really nice. I think I'm going to keep 2 of the 3, and give one to my buddy (the one I was posting TikTok's from).

Orange leg band is a very nice over all cock, but green leg band doesn't have as big of a tail. So, what I'm thinking is breeding green leg band to one of my SDW hens that has the biggest tail for 1/4 the breeding season (maybe half, not sure yet), and see what I can get out of them - see if I can propagate a bigger tailed bird.
*I'll get pictures ASAP.*

I have good news on the Azteca projects. I got my short legged chick this morning!
I've had 2 before, but the cold got to them - not this time! I'm prepared this time.

I hope, and pray I have a good hatch with the last 6 Pinto eggs I have left in the incubator, and there's a couple shorties.

Here's my SDW cockerels. Very beautiful boys, I'm quite happy with them.
I'll be keeping #1 & #2, and #3 is going to my buddy, @GageReynolds .

Welcome to my thread, buddy.

ooh, it is nice. Does dubbing hurt them/how is it done?
I don't think it hurts as much as we might think it does.

I do my own bumble surgery and while there is a first flinch it's not a big one. There is also no real way of deadening the area as that actually can cause death in them.

Dubbing hurts only for a couple seconds while your cutting the comb/wattles off. Basically u cut at the rounded end of of the comb, about the same angle of the head. Then you follow a line that naturally runs in the roosters comb from beak to back of the com. Then you cut the wattles and earlobes as close to the head. Dubbing is required for show and helps prevent frostbite.
