I bought four thermometers and one on the incubator. The incubator cost around $200. It is 1588 Genesis hova bator. At first, I thought the temp and humidity was correct regarding to the incubator. And now, I have several thermometers and a humidty detector. I tried to use the ice water test so I thought that one was showing a degree higher than it was supposed to. Supposedly the higher reading was correct because I did use the ice water test,. Then I got another thermometer and it was supposed to be very accurate but it was showing 44* with the ice water test. This is starting to get really crazy. I am not sure how I could trust the temps and humidity on the Hova Bator. Are hovabator s good? e I've been reading a lot here and it just seems I cannot even find one temp that could or may be accurate. So I tried to get the hens to do the work but it appears they don't want to.

At this point, I don't know which one is to trust. At first, I trusted the Hova Bator. And then another thermometer was 1 degree higher on the ice water test. So that would mean that I should raise the hova bator temp to 100.5. As then the thermometer was one degree higher then the thermometer should also read 100.5. But then I would crank up the hova bator to 101.5. This is totally confusing.

If your thermometer reads 1 degree higher than it should, and you can't calibrate it, then when your incubator is actually at 99.5, that thermometer should show it's at 100.5. So yes, you'd have to set the incubator to 100.5 or whatever it takes to show 100.5 on your thermometer.

I've got 1 NR360 bought new, 1 Brinsea 56EX bought new, and 1 Brinsea 56EX bought used, and none of them are accurate.

I own about 5 different Govee hygrometer/thermometers. They are programmable with alarms and calibratable. Amazon has different models of them on sale all the time. I also use them in my brooders. They have apps for your phone so you can see what temp/humidity is. Some are wifi, some are just Bluetooth. Bluetooth is all we've needed.

I am having issues too- but mainly with humidity level measurement. I have opted to assume both are close to correct (although miles paart really) and place then within the acceptable range for incubation- and try to keep them there, although they are wildly different. So using both readings, I can determine the top and low end of ranges which luckily, both fall into.
