I used to think the trick for photographing traditional art was using a scanner, but that washes it out and adds too much contrast!
The real trick is natural light and editing your photo to represent real life as much as possible.

That depends on the scanner. I just got the cheapest 3-in-1 printer I could get and it has the best scanner I've ever had. But, yes, natural light and editing works great too. I photograph my larger paintings outside.

I also added a vignette because I got lazy with the pigment towards the edges
