Go for 100% cotton and 140+lb paper. With watercolor, over-dilution is a good problem to have - you can fix it by layering on top of the dried paint.

It wouldn’t be a problem
If I wasn’t so dang impatient, lol.
Plus the aforementioned paper quality means that the more water I use the more buckling and pilling. Oh well, I put cotton watercolor paper on my birthday list. My current paper is a generic “paint pad” which can be used for both watercolor and acrylics so not actually great for either imo (though I’ve never tried acrylics on it.) I also do have a smaller, nicer thicker cold press watercolor pad… if I could find it!

I have some wierd art. All the not weird stuff is my old art, and that looks pretty bad.
I prefer sculpting, but usually do stuff with pencils because it doesn't cost as much.

I like to think I'm good at drawing anatomy, but I can't get faces right. I sometimes do splash art or draw little cartoon mushrooms.

Yall I wrote a monologue
All in iambic pentameter (If you find any mistakes in that means do tell)
I AM TRAINING TO BECOME SHAKESPEARE

ANYWAYS GUYS I'M GIVING IT TO YOU IT HAS A CONTEXT AND A CHARACTER(This is not just me randomly writing a monologue about my beliefs, that would be silly willy)

Oh, Who are we, that we should wish often?
Men wish so grand, only to place themselves
Outside by isolation of dreaming,
while the tread of existence wears thinner.
From these foolish longings, ourselves destroyed.
To wish is to fall, like the rose petal.
To burn, a taper caressed by water.
Oh, To wish without plan, without action,
is to wrong ourselves of that great future
That, were we to work, to use our soft hands
Yea, even lowly children could achieve’t.
Alas, this bitter heart wishes to wish.
So, my swirling, twirling, crazed mass of stars
Thou shalt receive but one toy wish from me.
One wish, without a plan, without an act.
Hear me thou, oh deep abyss of pinpricks
In the tapestry that hides the heavens.
The fault, I wish, shall not be in my stars.
Cruel wrinkles in the fabric of my fate
Must be righted. By this time tomorrow
I shall be frolicking on the right path.
A fine excuse, least for a petty wish?
Parting is such sweet sorrow. Goodnight, stars.

I always lose at chess and I would be happy to lose with these.
I love the passive-aggressive rooster peck rooks.
And the Bishops are adorably funny. I especially like the White Faced Black Spanish ones.
Let's see, Columbian Rock and black Australorp pawns. Spitz knights (wow I love the crests are those chicks or saddles on the backs? I thought it was saddles but now that I see them from a different angle, I think they are chicks which is adorable!)
Not sure on the other but I think it is maybe a Wyandotte? not sure
White Faced Spanish Rooks but I'm not sure what the whites are
Jersey Giant rooks? Leghorn and Polish queens. The kings look like they could be Asils.

Thank you!! You got most of those right! I’m glad they’re recognizable lol.
Kings: Asil roos.
Queens: Polish hens.
Bishops: leghorn hens and white faced black Spanish roos.
Knights: appenzeller spitzhauben and SLW hens (they have chicks on them! Of unspecified breeds lol)
Castles: jersey giant roos.
Pawns: Delaware (but CR works too!) and black australorp hens.

The bishops are my favorite. I was cracking myself up making them. : D
