Anyone in central Wisconsin know of anyone who I can take chickens to? We had one, Wisconsin Valley Vet, but they are never available. They will say “ there is an open appointment at 11 tomorrow but I have to check with the veterinarian and will call you back”.. then they call back and say the vet is busy and no openings for a couple weeks.
I have called around to all the googled veterinary clinics around in a 75 mile radius but either they only handle pets such as small animals but not chickens or I am referred to a large animal vet that is surprised I am calling about a small animal such as a chicken. I have called farm animal vets but they mostly do goats, cows, horses and such.
What do people do when you don’t have a vet for illnesses or injuries in your flock?
One of my Ayam Cemani pullets was injured pretty bad. Been treating at home but not sure if it broke it’s leg or the injury needs better antibiotics.
