Any good watering containers?

Not sure if this helps or not, but I tested this one, and it is nice because it hooks up to a hose with a float (no refilling) and has legs.

I tried it out on other rescue birds, worked very well in the past, so I purchased a new model for the current coop (but the birds are too small to go out at this time). Saves my back for sure (as the coop is 30feet below the house on a steep slope), bacteria and space (just added a splitter for the hose, took hubby 10 minutes to install):

Water here comes out ninja hot (scalding), so this gives it a chance to mix with the old as it will be just a few cups at a time, therefore it cools down. There is also room enough to put a frozen water bottle in hot days...

Other people will have more info, just my two cents.

I've had two double wall metal poultry waterers for several years and have no issues with them.

Were yours like this...How did they break? I have pushed the "plug" arm back in place, to make sure too much water doesn't flow thru the opening, but it's never broke.

Yeah they were like that but taller, the plug arm thing broke and it’s so annoying

Know what you mean.
I free-range most of the year and use several Tuff Stuff heavy duty rubber bowls on an elevated platform they can access, along with another typical plastic design that I use to put their probiotics or other ingredients in.

The rubber is easy to clean, the birds do not dirty the water, I can easily fill it, and it is in the shade, so keeps cool. I also use this for my ducks.

If you are looking for a coop waterer, however, I believe your birds could find a way to feceate in the bowl from above...
Good luck.

These automatic waters are the best thing I ever bought but of course they will freeze in cold weather but rarely a problem where I’m located View attachment 4075592
Where did you order this waterer? Looking for a new waterer and seems like this one will work. How does it have a float valve or how does the water stop from overflowing? Do you have any algae build up or what are the cons to it? I am located in SE Florida so no freezing. Did you mount it in a shaded area or would it be better to build a "mini lean to cover" for it and attach a hose from the top?
