If the living room potatoes are growing this well after a week, will they grow well inside until ready?

Depends on how long before it will be frost free where you are. You can grow potatoes indoors but they do better in a bigger pot,

I grew one in a 5 gallon bucket and kept raising the dirt level until the bucket was full. The ones I grew in a 6" deep tray that was 14 1/2" x 21" did better.

 You don’t usually take that long to respond.
I knew pot size would be mentioned. I thought they would take longer to start! I was hoping to grow them in the small pot for a month, and then put them out. Now I think it’s going to be two more weeks! Thus why I am pondering growing them inside throughout. I only intend to move them once, and don’t want to be lugging a mammoth pot outside later.

I have critters that needed tended to.

They start almost immediately in warm soil if they have eyes starting.

I start potatoes directly in the ground. Here I plant them the first of May. I have planted them as late as the first of June and they produced fine. Once they start blooming, they already have taters growing.

I MISS GARDENING. In fact I miss a lot.
