Boba has a gallon bucket with a hole on the side of it cut out, and softened the edges with a lighter. This acts as a bigger water bowl for Boba. Since she goes through more water than any other human in this household 😂😂 (we swapped to this from a normal bowl => water dispenser for dogs => to this)

Is there any tips or ways to prevent it from stinkin?

She keeps eating and then drinking and repeat until she’s full. We 99% suspect the stink is from the fallen food from her mouth when she goes for a drink.

Change the water at least daily, twice a day is better. Use the dirty water for plants outside. Take the lid off if you have one on it, and clean it with a little white vinegar weekly.

X2 to what @igorsMistress said and also sometimes you can add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar per gallon of water right into it for her to drink. It keeps her healthier I use the kind with the mother in it. but only about once a week .
Would the vinegar change the water in anyway? I’ve recently got the electrolytes powder to add to her bowl of water (that’s not in the pen). And she avoided that thing like a plague, because it tasted different than her “normal water” from the tap

We’ve also played around with what water she likes. Tap water is okay, and filtered water is okay-ish, she does pauses when she drinks from filtered water. (Brita & Zero Water.)

hey yes but they usually like it .
but it might not even control any smell it’s just good for their health, but I was actually thinking about you this morning and the fact that the pellets I feed my flock do not cause the water buckets to smell however, when I give them crumbles it does

my geese were mad at me this morning because I only gave them pellets and no crumbles and they stood outside my door screaming until I brought out some crumbles so now i know the water will get smelly lol but i will change it twice a day especially in the heat we are having here it feels like 107 and it’s not even noon so yeah and I just dumped a 20 pound bag of ice into my gooses swimming pool lol
