Are these viable at day 21 and day 23?

I did a float test and they floated with air cell up, however, it seems at this stage they should be filling the egg more and the air cell should be much smaller. What do you all think?

Hmmm, doesn't look like a day 21'er to me, but I'll admit i'm pretty new to egg candling, but I also do a lot, and I mean a LOT of research. I would expect to see veining and some movement at least at this stage. If I had to guess, it's either very far behind the rest or it's terminated between days 12/16 ish. The hatching eggs I have have started to hatch and all 11 looked further along than this at day 15. Is it moving around on it's own? Mine were quite jiggly at day 14.

This was one of mine at day 14:

Chicken eggs right? At this stage seeing just a big dark area and a big air cell is normal. If the shell is easy to see through you should be able to see some big veins at the edge of the air cell and perhaps a little movement.

Just before internal pipping the air cell will get bigger and draw down as the fluids get absorbed by the chick.

From what I see it looks like the chick may have died, a mottled looking dark blob usually means a dead embryo. If it wiggles like fluid then that further indicates a dead egg. But when in doubt, always leave it in the incubator until day 25 or so.

Yes, I have also heard leaving the egg until day 25 is a good idea, regardless of if you think it's a goner or not. Some can suprise you! :)

Since they don’t have a smell, guess it doesn’t hurt to leave a couple more days
