Armadillo digging under and into coop :(

5 days in a row. 5 big giant tunnels. 1 medium size Armadillo caused so much destruction and kaos.
I would fill the hole, shovel level the house floor. Wake up the next day and
!!
Just like that movie "Ground Hog Day" with Bill Murry, waking up to the same identical mornings. good grief.
Had to get my husband involved, that means video of course.

On the 6th night he placed our trusty live trap with some chicken feed in it and placed it in the big chicken house. I woke up and expected to be holding a shovel but instead I was carrying an Armadillo out of the house.
I don't think it was after the hens as much as the feed.
Can Armadillos climb up to the high perches and nap a chicken?
I hope I will never see it here!

I'm in Canada... I could not ever fathom seeing an Armadillo ?....Sorry I cant help...I have a Fox problem....

We tried burying the chicken wire about 6 inches underground to deter digging "creatures". Unfortunately, our soil is very rocky and I couldn't get deep enough. Instead, we bought heavy paving stone and fashioned a "slab" of sorts, upon which we installed the coop. We get armadillos, foxes, skunks, raccoons, and oppossums, and not one has made it into the coop.
