Attention Lexington KY chicken keepers!

Hi everyone! I'm visiting my mom in Lexington, Kentucky today (usually i am in New York). I'm always noticing BYC posters in Lexington and feeling wistful that a) there are no backyard chicken keepers in my neighborhood in Brooklyn- ha!... and b) i'm not in Lexington enough to make plans to visit any choox.

Anyway, I'm planning to move away from NYC this summer and will be ending somewhere more chicken friendly so i can finally live the dream with a teensy backyard laying flock. I know it's a long shot, but if anyone in Lexington or around Lexington is home today and willing to let me (and my mom) come by and take a peek at your set up, i would love to say hi! I've been reading chicken books like there's no tomorrow, but to tell the truth...i have NEVER seen a chicken set up in person.

I'm in Lexington, KY too! We're setting up for chickens again. We had a flock a few years back. Long story short, opossum. We learned a lot since then and now feel ready to give it another go. Just thought I would drop in and say 'hi' to anyone else in the area. I know a few folks at work that also have chickens in Lexington. We did the coop tour sponsored by CLUCK a few years back. It appears this year the tour will happen in mid-June.
