Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

At the risk of revealing my ignorance, are there issues with setting eggs this time of year?
I’m in Grafton, NSW, so we’re experiencing high heat and humidity. Will this effect fertility and/or hatch rate? Am I enter to wait until March or to just go for it?
Thanks.

They should be fine this time of year, whether under a hen or in an incubator. That said, lots of things effect hatch rate, so there are no guarantees.

I second MaryJanet's answer and want to add that a lot of birds will start moulting around March and there won't be many fertile eggs around at that time of the year. So it is either go for it now or wait until next breeding season.

Hi Aussies!

Thought I'd try my luck before taking drastic measures. Would anyone within a few hours drive of Adelaide like to give a Coronation Sussex cockerel a long term and kindly home? Happy to drop him off. DM me if you're interested.
