automatic feeder

i use to have a metal feeder that the chickens stand on to get access to their food, i used it so the wildlife can't eat all their food. does anyone on here use one of those, or know how i can get hold of one please.

Google "Rat Proof chicken feeder". I've never used one but have thought about it.

I have the Grandpa feeder that @IdyllwildAcres posted a link to. So glad I spent the extra $'s and bought the large size. Works great and no scratched out feed on the floor. Holds a lot of feed too. I've filled it for my flock of 19 and left for 4-5 days and still had plenty in the hopper when I returned. I give the Grandpa feeder 5 stars!

yes i had one like the grandpa feeder but i need one that the rain can't drip into, we live in England and we get a lot of rain, i suppose i could get hubby to make a shelter to put it in. they are great from keeping rats and birds out of the feed.

Hmmm....not sure how the rain could get in the Grandpa feeder? The hopper is covered and the part that lifts up to let the chickens get the feed.

my husband copied it with wood so it was similar, but the rain ran down into the feeder, so this time i was thinking of a square box that lid lift up when the chickens stand on it.
