I am new to banding and we banded our two 10.5 week old bucklings last week, made sure both where in there, and not to high, below the Little boy nipples, cleaned and sanitized the area, bands and tools.
everything was fine 2 hours ago, they where rearing and head butting, running and jumping, and now one of the boys has some bloody discharge from the bottom of his banded ball sack!!
It was starting to turn gray at the bottom, I don’t know if he caught it on something or if I did this is some way! But I’m freaking out over here!
I will call the vet in the AM, but wanted to get y’all’s opinion. Hoping to ease my mind for the night.
I don’t have any Blu-Kote but will get some in the morning if that is advisable.

Ps they had 2 rounds of CD&T

He is also in little too no pain with it, he was grazing and walking fine, He bedded down with the sun and seems ok. I think I’m more upset about it than he is.

If you are afraid there is an issue, I think you can just cut the scrotum off beneath the band. There shouldn't be any bleeding. I do hope you vaccinated your boys for tetanus. If you didn't, get some tetanus antitoxin (not toxoid) and vaccinate them ASAP.

Just noticed that you have vaccinated them. Missed that. Sorry. I think everything will be fine.
