Here is a picture of my chicken coops. They are kind of bare right now. I only have one old-timey looking feed sack hanging inside one of them and the halloween lights strung up. I am looking for unique things to put up in the coops and on the chain link fencing around it for decoration. The decorations don't have to chicken related necessarily. Just something unique that you might not see everyday. Any ideas or pictures of things anyone finds would be a wonderful help. Thank you ahead of time.

I think one of those coops would be suitable for an Old West motif. I have just started building a small coop which I plan to decorate for my brother-in-law who works at rodeos. I am using rustic wood and I bought a small metal kerosene lamp. I also plan to use horse shoes, perhaps some hemp rope, a couple of decorative wagon wheels, and a sign using a western font hung with barbed wire. Perhaps you could decide on a theme for each coop and take it from there.

Needless to say, this site is full inspirational photos!

Yes it is, I don't seem to have enough time to troll through all the wonderful stuff on this site. Thank you for the idea. I really like that, especially the wagon wheel idea and kerosene lamps. I wouldn't mind the hemp rope idea but my girls like biting things like that. I have the electrical cords out of their reach so I don't end up with fried chicken.

I would love to see photos when you get the coop up for your brother in law.

If I find the right rope, I plan to hang it rolled up, probably out of reach of any chickens. I found the lamp on Ebay for 99 cents. I'm still looking for some free horse shoes

I will be glad to share photos of the coop when it is finished.
