Bare duck wings

Possibly as long as 9 months - so about half her life. It does vary and several times I've thought the problem was resolving. But the obvious stress factors aren't active right now yet she looks more bare and winter is coming on.
Sounds like self pruning to me..Sometimes Birds develop bad habits.

I am not familiar with self-pruning - it sounds like duck OCD? - what can I do to help her? Thanks.
Lice, mites, other parasites, and/or nutritional deficiencies could cause this behavior.

This talks about feather plucking in pet birds, but I'd be willing to bet the same could be applied to waterfowl.

FWIW, I've had poultry of all kinds for many years and I have never seen one over prune or excessively pluck feathers out of habit.

Our local Tractor Supply says they have permethrin powder for chickens - not a spray but close enough?
They should also have Gordon's spray, which might be easier to use, but powder would work too.
