I PROMISE, I PROMISE, I PROMISE ..... to get this stock out to as many people as I possibly can! As soon as I start getting eggs I plan to incubate. Can't really send out eggs in the winter. Well, chicks either. BUT, I figured I could get them started here anyway. NOW >>>>> waiting for the eggs!

I would like to get some fertilized hatching eggs so sign me up.

There is another person who got some Barred Rocks from Jeremy. Below is here email address and web site. She has some interesting information about breeds history of the breeds you will enjoy. She is wanting to breed these birds and all of her birds to the Standard of Perfection so I think whe will be a great source in years to come. bob

I have raked and raked and raked leaves; burn most of them. NOW I read that we should save them (dry of course) and use them for bedding and foraging in the coop in the winter. SO, now I am bagging them! I have plenty, that's for sure.

I have a high quality papper/cd shredder. I shredded junk mail and use that for bedding. It works out great.

I tried that last year. I had access to all the shredded paper I want, from work. I did not like it, because it was not absorbent. I tried it in the nests, too ..... hens did not like it. I use alot of DE, as it has drying effect as well as helps deter parasites. I sprinkle it with a flour sifter once every week or so.

Ah....a flour sifter for DE....what a great idea. Would be a much more controlled application! Will be digging mine out because I don't use it for sifting flour....I use something else.

well i got me a trio of the barred rocks from jeremy , thanks for posting to contact him kathy , ill be picking my trio up at shawnee show woo hoo

I need to get me some of the Barred Rocks that you folks have....very nice looking Birds.

Here is my Alpha Rooster Paleface.... not the best of Quality or is he?????
He is a Purebreed Barred rock not a cross, despite his bad markings. What he lacks in style he makes up for in size.

He is Currently 7.8 months old or 33 Weeks old. He is a rather large boy and you will see what I mean in a photo where he is next to my year old Ridley Bronze Tom.

Current weight is 8.9lbs as of Today.

Now that I have overloaded you all with pics, what do you think?? Would he be worth continuing to use him in my Breeding Project? At least for his Size and build?
