It's tough. Fortunately phone calls are a lot cheaper than they used to be. You'll make new friends and eventually the hurt won't be so bad. Stay in touch though. It's amazing how the old times come back to you after many years.

Send her off with a box of stationary, complete with envelopes with your address on it, and stamps! You could be goofy with letters like me and my pen pal do and cover the envelopes with stickers, or duct tape it shut.
