Best silkie breeds/colors for exhibition?

Hello there, I am very new to showing chickens and have become very interested in showing silkies. I am wondering what color would be best for showing, since I am aware that some colors/ color combos are not accepted for breed standards, (please correct me if I’m wrong). Also what of type of silkie would be best (ie: bearded, top hat, etc.). I would like to do as much research as possible before buying, to hopefully get a fierce competitor in competition.

I would suggest breeding white, black, blue, splash, BBS, or self-blue. Start with solid colors.And for the kind of silkie I'd personally do bearded... just looks better (not sure what you mean by top hat. All silkies have crests)

Thanks so much! I am definitely leaning towards a white bearded silkie, but I will have to see how that would fit with my current setup. Really appreciate the info.
