What do you guys think of this Ameraucana hen?
She is the only one we have with a really full tail like this. It's immediately noticeable in person, I find her just stunning. But I'm not sure what the SOP has to say about it.
Her name is Satin, from the shushing sound her feathers make.

(Sorry for the picture overload, having trouble deciding which angles might be important)

I don't know how high she rates on the Ameraucana SOP, but I know she is beautiful! :love Did you breed her? If not, where did you get her?

I got her and her siblings in a box of beautiful chicks from @dheltzel ( Welbars.com ).
He's fabulous to work with! Would totally recommend and he has quite a few breeds and varieties.
Dennis did say the Blacks are from a show line, but I've forgotten the specifics.

I really love Satins brother Raven too, but one of the older hens (isabel, different breeder) has totally groomed his beard :/
I threw scratch for the photo session which dusted his head and neck, lol.

She is a pretty black Ameraucana hen! Blacks are my favorite color in Ams, mostly because they are so iridescent. I have several other colors that are dilutions or patterns of the black (lavender, cuckoo, mottled).
My blacks originated from chicks purchased from John Blehm, a very well respected show breeder from Michigan. He created many of the color variants and his birds are superb. I don't show, but I am familiar with the SOP and favor birds that are close to the standard for breeding. It is all about starting with the best stock, it would have taken me years to breed up to this level from hatchery quality Ameraucanas.

This year I am producing sexlinked Ameraucanas in black and lavender, using my cuckoo hens to make the male chicks have visible head spots and barring on their feathers.

Are you getting any black/slate shanks from this cross?
The cuckoo causes light colored shanks, but when used to create sexlinks, the pullet chicks all lack the gene for sex linked barring that causes the light shanks, restoring the leg color in the all black pullets. The cockerels have a single gene for barring, and so they still have light shanks.
